filesnare.com helps you request and send files. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. If anything is unclear, email help@filesnare.com.
What we collect
- Account data. Your name and email address, provided via magic link or OAuth (Google / Microsoft). We don't store passwords.
- File metadata. Filenames, sizes, content types, and the address of the person you requested files from or sent files to. Required to operate the service.
- File contents. Files uploaded through filesnare.com sit in encrypted cloud storage. We don't read them; they exist so the intended recipient can download them.
- Operational logs and IP addresses. Kept short-term for abuse prevention, virus scanning, and debugging.
What we don't do
- We don't run advertising trackers.
- We don't sell or rent data to third parties.
- We don't read your files.
- We don't share your data with anyone except the subprocessors listed below, who handle infrastructure on our behalf.
Subprocessors
We use a small set of vendors to run the service: Neon (PostgreSQL database), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), Upstash (session storage), Vercel (hosting), Postmark (transactional email), Inngest (background jobs), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each is bound by their own terms.
How long we keep things
File requests and sends expire on the schedule you set when you create them. Once expired, files are deleted from storage. Account data stays until you delete your account, after which your files, requests, and personal data are removed.
Your rights
If you're in the EU/UK or another jurisdiction with similar rules, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Email help@filesnare.com and we'll handle it.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
