Acceptable use policy
Last updated 2026-05-15
This page expands the short acceptable-use summary in our Terms of service. Same rules, more detail. Breaking any of them is grounds for account suspension or termination.
Don't distribute malware
No viruses, ransomware, exploit code, droppers, or anything designed to compromise a recipient's device or network. We scan uploads, but you remain responsible for what passes through your account.
Don't share illegal or infringing content
Don't use filesnare.com to share content that's unlawful where you or your recipient lives, or content you don't have the right to distribute. If your work is being shared without permission, see our copyright policy for how to report it.
Don't harass, threaten, or impersonate
No abuse, threats, doxxing, or impersonation of a person or organisation. The upload page lets anyone send you files — don't use that against someone else.
Don't abuse the service
No probing for vulnerabilities, automated traffic without permission, scraping the dashboard or upload pages, bypassing rate limits, or otherwise interfering with normal operation. Security research is welcome — email help@filesnare.com first.
Don't spam or phish
Don't send unsolicited file requests at scale, and don't disguise phishing links as legitimate filesnare.com requests. We monitor for both and will shut accounts down quickly.
Zero tolerance: child sexual abuse material
Sharing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through filesnare.com results in immediate account termination, content preservation, and a report to the appropriate authorities. No warnings, no exceptions.
Reporting abuse
If you've received an abusive file request or send through filesnare.com, email help@filesnare.com with the subject line "Abuse report" and include the request or send URL. We act quickly.
What happens if you break these rules
- Removal of the offending content.
- Account suspension or termination, depending on severity.
- Cooperation with law enforcement where legally required, including preservation of relevant records.
